What are the approximate likely costs?
Initially: £1500 - £2000 (Machine and Cabinet)
Plus installation with electricity supply.
Ongoing: £100 every 2 years for pads (or immediately after the pads are used)
£400 every 4 years for the battery.
Please remember if your premises are rented, you will require permission from your landlord.
The installation of Defibrillators does not require planning permission unless your building is Listed. You would then need to apply for Listed Building Consent from babergh.gov.uk
What do I need to maintain?
Weekly maintenance checks - Sample recording sheets are available.
Does the person who carries out the maintenance need to be qualified?
No, but competent.
Do you have to be qualified to use a Defibrillator?
No, however training courses are available or click on the link to watch a video.
Where do I purchase the equipment from?

Recommended Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 fully automatic machine.

Where do I register my machine?
Once your machine is installed, it should be registered at thecircuit.uk this will then be on the Ambulance service register.
