Charles Dickens has strong links to Sudbury - In the 19th Century Sudbury gained a reputation for electoral corruption and novelist Charles Dickens used it as the model for his 'Eatanswill' - The Rotten Borough in The Pickwick Papers, written in 1836. The Rotten Borough is therefore the perfect place for Scrooge to escape the Festivities in London
Whether you are a visitor to the area or live locally and want to know more about this ancient Market Town, this tour offers a truly fascinating insight into Sudbury's unique past. Our guides will be in costume (and character!) for this tour.
