Sudbury has a long, proud and fascinating civic history. Below you will find a link to 'A Taste of Sudbury History', a booklet which provides an overview of the town's civic past. The booklet contains sections on the origins of the Borough Arms, the official Town Seal, the Town Maces and some very interesting anecdotal stories, including that of a 'fracas' during the Mayor's Banquet in 1895 involving the Godfrey Tankard, which form part of Sudbury's rich and diverse history.
