Sudbury Town council sign the #iwill youth charter
Yesterday was a very special moment for Sudbury Town Council and the young people of Sudbury, as Mayor, Adrian Stohr, was joined by Sue Calvino, Head of Pastoral Support at One Sixth Form College, as he signed the #iWill Movement Power of Youth Charter. This is hopefully the first step towards becoming a Town of Youth Social Action.

The Mayor said "This week has marked a significant milestone in building a stronger bridge between our historic town and the young people of today.
As Mayor of Sudbury, I firmly believe that our future must be built on listening, working together and giving our younger generation the opportunity to help shape the town they will one day lead.
The signing of the #iwill Charter represents an important commitment from Sudbury Town Council to encourage youth involvement, recognise young talent and create opportunities for our young people to take ownership of projects that will make a real difference across our great town.
This is about more than signing a charter. It is about building trust, creating opportunities, inspiring confidence and ensuring that our young people feel valued, motivated and proud to contribute to their community.
I would like to sincerely thank my fellow councillors for supporting this important commitment, and our dedicated council officers and staff who share my enthusiasm for connecting with our younger generation and helping them achieve their ambitions.
Our young people are not just the future of Sudbury. They are an important part of its present, and their voices deserve to be heard today.
Together, we can build a town where every generation has a voice, a purpose, and a part to play."

Sue Calvino added that "It’s encouraging to see a commitment to empowering young people, amplifying their voices and creating opportunities for them to take action on the issues they care about.
Now comes the exciting part: turning that commitment into action and working together to create meaningful opportunities for young people across Sudbury and beyond."
